OVERVIEW
Ruaha National Park is blessed abundantly with varieties of animals, birds and plants.it is the
home of animals like lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes
and Jackals, birds like crested barbet, pale-billed hornbill, violet-crested turaco, plovers, southern
carmine bee-eaters, egrets, and plants like tamarind, baobab, doum palm, acacia, just mention
few. From Ruaha trip will head to Udzungwa Mountain National Park, which is rich with
different types of monkeys, plants and beautiful landscapes including Sanje waterfalls. There
will be game drives and walking safari in Ruaha and trekking in Udzungwa.

Day 01: Iringa town – Ruaha National Park
Pick up from your accommodation will be around 08:00am after breakfast. Drive for 2 hours to
Ruaha National Park, after gate formalities go straight for game drive. During game drive in the
park there will be a picnic lunch boxes and after lunch you will proceed with game drive. Your
safari will cover whole day and in the evening you will drive to your accommodation Mwagusi
Camp. In your accommodation you will have rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 02: Full day game drive in Ruaha National Park
You will have breakfast early in the morning, then depart for full day game drive in Ruaha NP
with a packed lunch box. Lunch will be served in the park around afternoon then you will
proceed with game drive until around evening hours when you will drive back to your
accommodation for overnight stay.
Day 03: Walking Safari and Half game drive Ruaha National Park.
At sunrise enjoy a wonderful walking safari for about Two to Four hours along the Great Ruaha
River with two armed rangers. There is a possibility of viewing hippos, crocodiles, lions and lots
of other animals that come to drink in the river, you will also see variety of bird species. Later
come back for late breakfast. Enjoy afternoon leisure before evening game drive.
Day 04: Ruaha National Park – Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Early morning game drives starting at 0630 until 0930 then come back for breakfast which will
be served at the lodge. After breakfast collect all your belongings and depart for the drive to
Udzungwa Mountain Park. Enjoy a game drive en route and stop at Iringa town for lunch. After
lunch you will continue your journey to the park and check in at the Twiga lodge for dinner and
your overnight stay.
Day 05: Udzungwa Mountains National Park
After an early breakfast you will depart for a trek in the Udzungwa Mountains. Here you will
experience a great view on the mountain tops overlooking a big sugar cane plantation. You will
view different medicinal plants and different monkey species during your trek as well. Eat lunch
at the top and then descend the mountain for your drive to Dar es Salaam for drop off.
