4 Days Safari to Gombe Stream National Parks Start/End in Kigoma Airport
Overview
This chimpanzee 4 days tour to Gombe Stream National Park is ideal for travelers who want to
experience the chimpanzee trekking. Gombe is the smallest of Tanzania’s national parks. The
major attraction of the Gombe Stream is the chimpanzees, made famous by Jane Goodall in 1960
when she established the area as a chimpanzee research station. Despite its tiny size of only 52 sq
km, it’s a magnificent, dense tropical forest rising steeply from Lake Tanganyika in western
Tanzania. It is a park without roads, where you can walk and experience nature with all your
senses.
Transfer to Kigoma
Arrive in Kigoma town and meet at airport or railway station/ harbor, transfer to hotel lunch,
thereafter drive to Ujiji town visit the Dr. Livingstone Memorial then drive back to Kigoma town
for sightseeing evening leisure, dinner overnight stay at Kigoma Hilltop Hotel.
Kigoma – Gombe Stream National Park
We pick you up from your hotel in Kigoma and transfer to Kibirizi port where you will take a
boat to Gombe Stream National Park. The journey takes about one hour and a half. Upon arrival
at Gombe, you register at the park headquarters and get assigned to a guide who escorts you into
the forest for chimpanzee trekking. Walk to up to the hill to Kakombe waterfalls for picnic lunch
and continue to trek for chimps as well as to spot different birds and fruits eaten by chimps till
sunset. Dinner and overnight at the camp
Gombe National Park and Boat Safari in Lake Tanganyika
Breakfast at the camp, game viewing/ Chimpanzee tracking in the forest return to the camp for
lunch afternoon Game viewing by boat on the lake. Enjoy the sunset while at Lake Tanganyika.
Dinner and overnight stay at campsite.
Gombe National Park – Kigoma
Breakfast at the Campsite, morning departure to Kigoma by boat. Lunch at hotel, afternoon at
leisure and Kigoma town tour for the rest of the day, later in evening head to Kigoma Hilltop
Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Kigoma – Dar Es Salaam
Wake up for morning breakfast and then collect your belongings ready for transfer to Kigoma
Airport to catch your flight back to Julius Nyerere International Airport Dar Es Salaam to
connect your flight.
Drop Off at Kigoma Airport will mark the End of Services
