OVERVIEW:

briefing and answer all your queries regarding your safari and provide you with a short briefing as well before the start of safari to Southern Tanzania National Parks, Mufindi: Southern
Highlands and Lake Tanganyika Shore.
HIGHLIGHTS:
DAY 01: DAR ES SALAAM – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After landing at Julius Nyerere Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Johari Rotana
Hotel for day rest and overnight.
DAY 02: DAR ES SALAAM – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
Take your breakfast in the morning, and then depart for drive to Mikumi national park, arrive
with game drive in Mikumi national park until evening, then drive to accommodation for dinner
and overnight at Vuma Hills Tented Camp.
DAY 03: MIKUMI – UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
On this day you wake up very early in the morning for game drive up to 11:00am and back for
breakfast which will be served at your accommodation. After breakfast you have a rest while
collecting all your belongings and depart for drive to Udzungwa Mountain Park, where you will
have your Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at Hondo Hondo Udzungwa Forest Camp.
DAY 04: UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast. After breakfast you will go for day trekking and
walking safari with packed lunch box lunch, ascend to mountain summit, arrive with swimming
at Sanje waterfalls later descend and head to your accommodation. Dinner and overnight at
Hondo Hondo Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp.
DAY 05: UDZUNGWA – IRINGA TOWN
After morning breakfast collect all your belongings, then depart for drive to Iringa town, arrive
around lunch time, your lunch be served at Neema Crafts, and then go for town tour, till evening,
then you will have dinner at Neema Craft and go to Mount royal hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 06: IRINGA TOWN TOUR
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast at Pazuri House. After breakfast you will start town
tour at Maasai market where you will be able to see and even buy handmade souvenirs. You will
also visit Iringa Boma Cultural Centre Museum, Old German market then you will at Isimila
Stone Age and town tour will end there. Later in evening head to Mount royal hotel for evening
rest, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 07: IRINGA TOWN – RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
Wake up for breakfast and then depart to Ruaha National Park around 0900am. Enjoy the
beautiful landscape and the local lifelong the way heading to the park on 2 hours’ drive, then
Check-in to the park ready for game drive while heading to Ruaha River Lodge for lunch and
then leave for game drive until evening.
DAY 08: FULL GAME DRIVE RUAHA NATIONAL PARK
Wake up for morning breakfast and then depart for full day game drive to Ruaha National Park,
hot lunch will be served in the park and in evening drive to your accommodation for dinner and
overnight.
Apart of being the second largest National Park in Tanzania and East Africa, the park is one of
the Tanzania birds' paradise with more than 571 species and some of them are known to be
migrant s from within and outside Africa.
Migrating species from Europe, Asia, Australian rim and Madagascar have been recorded in the
park. Ruaha is believed to have high concentration of elephants than any national park in East
Africa. It is also a place where, magnificent mammals like Kudu (both Greater and Lesser),
Sable and Roan antelopes can easily be spotted in Miombo woodland.
The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs. Other animals in the park include lions,
leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes and Jackals. Apart from large
animals, the park also harbours a number of reptiles and amphibians such as crocodiles,
poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, monitor lizards, agama lizards and frogs.
DAY 09: WALKING SAFARI, EVENING AND NIGHT GAME DRIVES
Wake up early morning around 0630hrs for hot breakfast, then depart at 0700hrs for morning
walking safari with escort of armed rangers, your walk will end at 11 o’clock. You will be able
to see different plant species, animals and birds. Your vehicle will be waiting in the park after
one to four hours of your walk. Then hop in the car for game drive heading back for lunch. After
lunch depart for game drive at 0230hrs till late evening around 0630hrs when you will go back
for dinner.
After dinner depart at 0730hrs for night game drives of which will take on to 1100hrs when you
will drive back for overnight.
DAY 10: RUAHA NATIONAL PARK – SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS
Early morning of this day after having breakfast, you will be required to gather your belongings
with parked lunch box and start game drive on your exit out of the park. Check out the park then
drive to Mufindi, arrive at Mufindi Highlands Lodge for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 11: FULL DAY AT MUFINDI HIGHANDS LODGE
You will wake up for morning breakfast, in this day you will have a set of activities like, fishing,
horse riding, walking safari and kayaking. (Activities to be advised by client depending on
interest, this is because there is a lot of things to do while you are there).
DAY 12: MUFINDI HIGHANDS LODGE – KITULO NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then depart for drive to Kitulo National Park,
where you have your Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at Bandas.
DAY 13: KITULO NATIONAL PARK – MBEYA CITY
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast. After breakfast you will depart for walking safari to
Nhumbe Valley Waterfall with flower and bird watching en route, your lunch will be served at
waterfalls. Later on walk back for drive to Mbeya, check in to your accommodation. Dinner and
overnight at Utengule Coffee Lodge.
DAY 14: MBEYA
On this day you will have leisure time in Mbeya city while preparing for road trip on the next
day. You will be able to visit Mbeya view and to know the city. Later in evening come back to
Utengule Coffee Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 15: MBEYA – LAKE TANGANYIKA SHORE LODGE
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and collect your belongings for long drive to Lake
Tanganyika Lake Shore Lodge. Arrive with evening rest / leisure dinner and then overnight.
DAY 16 & 17: FULL DAY AT LAKE TANGANYIKA SHORE LODGE
Wake up with beach activities with breakfast and then go for Kayaking, Scuba diving,
snorkelling, water skiing, and/or mountain biking and quad biking. (Activities to be advised by
client depending on interest, this is because there is a lot of things to do while you are there).
DAY 18: LAKE SHORE LODGE – KATAVI NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early for morning breakfast and then depart for drive to Katavi National Park, you will
drive for two to three hours, on arrival you will check in and start game drive, your lunch will be
served in midday, and then proceed with game drive till evening when you will drive to Katavi
Wildlife Lodge.
DAY 19&20: FULL DAY KATAVI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart with packed lunch for full day game drive in the park. Later in evening
return to your accommodation for evening sun downers, dinner and overnight.
The park brings you to the remote and unspoiled park and the impressive location for great
experience. It is among the very few remaining places in the continent where you can feel the
real sense of Africa wilderness. Pride of lions, huge herds of buffaloes, as well as hippos and
Crocodiles gather in pools. Also animals like zebra, giraffe, leopard, hyena, waterbucks and
many more.
DAY 21: KATAVI –MPANDA AIRPORT –DAR ES SALAAM
Wake up for morning breakfast and then collect your belongings ready for transfer to Mpanda
Airport to catch your flight back to Julius Nyerere International Airport Dar Es Salaam to
connect your flight.
Drop Off at Mpanda Airport will mark the End of Services.
